My fascination with North Korea never seems to end….

Kim Jong-il was the best golfer the world has ever seen

In 1994, Pyongyang media reported that Kim Jong-il shot an amazing 11 holes-in-one to achieve an unprecedented 38-under-par game on a regulation 18-hole golf course - on his first try at golf.

Reports say each of his 17 bodyguards verified the record-breaking feat.

You might think this photo was taken in the 1920’s. Nope. It was taken April 21, 2011 in North Korea. I am constantly intrigued by images of North Korea. See the full set of photos from AP’s David Guttenfelder who along with the AP’s bureau chief in Seoul was granted unprecedented access on their latest journey to Pyongyang and areas outside the nation’s showcase capital.
